This is a fuel station just around the the corner from where I live. It recently shut down, and today a lorry came along and took away the sign, and the corporate branding that covered the canopy.
It was a handy place to have nearby. Sometimes I bought fuel there, sometimes the kids would walk round – all by themselves – and buy things there. It sold some food essentials, so if we needed a loaf or some milk we could get it from "the garage".
And then the owner died. And it seems that whoever inherited "the garage" doesn’t want to try to run it any more. Presumably it will in time be converted to twenty or more luxury executive detached villas.
Nothing stays the same.
