It’s been a hard winter, but I think that Spring is finally here.
Our house backs onto an older house, which has a mature garden with several trees in it – one of them a chestnut tree. Each autumn, the kids enjoy playing with the conkers that fall from it and land in our garden.
Normally the kids get them all, but this little fellow managed to hide for the whole winter. He is clearly trying to put down some roots and grow.
Sadly, our house does not have a large garden, and that garden is not large enough to sustain a chestnut tree… so this poor chap had to be taken away from where he was trying to grow, and discarded.
There’s probably a moral in that. Don’t think about it, just enjoy the coming of Spring!
