I’m not quite sure whether this photograph works or not…

Anyway, today I spent about five hours on a train, going from Edinburgh to Stevenage (not far from London).

It wasn’t an unpleasant experience, but I have been lucky enough to travel in countries that are serious about doing railway travel properly. The British suggestion of its first ever high-speed rail link going from London and stopping in Birmingham is embarrassingly unambitious for a major economy… but I digress.

This is the view from a train window. The world whizzing past.
