2011-09-17 (Day 386) Concentration

Another day at the Edinburgh International Climbing Arena, and today Cameron was belaying for one of his friends. As I’ve said before, belaying is the process of holding onto the rope that supports your climbing partner, keeping it taut but not too tight, and being able to respond should anything go wrong. You’v got to concentrate all the time your partner is on the wall.

I liked this picture exactly becuase it was a study in concentration… you can see that Cameron is totally focused on his friend who is on the other end of the rope, anything up to twenty metres above him.

Well done, young man!
