I went along to Stirling University to try to grab some photos of the first-ever Stirling Scottish Marathon. With 26.2 gruelling miles through beautiful countryside, this is a fascinating race.
The lady at the front of this group is Zola Budd, the famous South African running who emigrated to the UK. She came in first for her age group and gender with a time of 3:12:24.
The event itself looked great – significantly, I noticed that there were pacers, which would be great for anyone trying to achieve a specific time (such as the magical four hours).
It’s not impossible I could be a participant next year…
