I had been invited to photograph the Pyramids Belly Dance Competition – Edinburgh’s only International Belly Dance competition – but had a bit of a photographic disaster. The 24-105mm is still out of commission with a smashed filter stuck on it, and the 50mm was too slow and I couldn’t foot zoom to get the variety of shots I needed.

I got a lot of really poor shots. Here is one of the best shots of the day!

A bad photographic night – and my fault entirely. I just wasn’t as prepared as I should have been (i.e. I haven’t spent enough on new lenses recently!)
