Many of our street lamps are being replaced by LED jobs. The benefits are obvious – drastically lower running costs, and a clearer, whiter light.

I have my suspicions that we are soon going to see massive developments in LED technology, and then quantum dots or something else to make these streetlamps seem out-of-date. But I can hardly blame the council for trying to get started on the conversion sooner rather than waiting for some possible future upgrade.
