Thankfully today’s lunchtime weather was a little better than yesterday’s, so I went out with the camera to find something nice.
A short walk from the office I came across this view of the Palace over the oilseed rape field. The vibrant yellow of the flowers contrasts with the strong, bold stones of the Palace. Perhaps it would have been nice to have pulled up the colour in the sky, but overall this reflects the lovely day today.
I wanted as short a depth of field as possible, so I opened up the lens to f/4. But it turned out that that would just have been too bright for my fixed ISO film at the camera’s max shutter speed, so I had to go to f/4.5. On a digital camera, of course, I would simply have turned down the ISO on the camera.
