There is a viewing area over the quarry at North Queensferry. I guess this is a place where quarry staff can watch the blasting to see that all is going according to plan.

But as you walk along the fenced-in passage to the gallery, stooping to avoid your hair being caught by the barbed wire above your head, it certainly does not feel a welcoming place…
