We got up early this morning and decided to go on the Grand Vans lift, which heads out from the village of Flaine towards the other parts of the Massif.

This was probably our least-enjoyed run of the week. The weather, as you can see above, was pretty misty. The run was very busy – much busier than the photograph suggests. The run was steep, narrow, and by turns icy and slushy.

We stuck to the Flaine area from then on, and I don’t think anyone from our group ventured onto the Grand Vans again.

Later on in the day, the weather turned and we had some snow that helped improve the skiing for the rest of the week.
