I’ve photographed the Falkirk Wheel before. The world’s only rotating boat lift, it joins the Union Canal with the Forth And Clyde Canal; it can lift two massive canal barges with just a few kW of energy thanks to its use of Archimedes’ principles.
This is the first time I have photographed it from the top, from the Union Canal. This is the view you would get if you drove a boat into the wheel – I had no boat but I had a monopod and a self-timer that did the next best thing!
