We are currently in the midst of an unusual cold spell in Scotland.

Unusual in that we are having a lot of snow (probably around two and a half to three feet), and unusual in that we are having it at a time that we do not normally expect snow in this country.

This photograph shows a streetlamp with icicles formed upon it, and in the light from the streetlamp we see yet more snow falling.
