The "new Forth Crossing" has officially been named the "Queensferry Crossing". The public was given a list of options, and invited to choose one in an online vote. But why the rather pretentious and meaningless word "Crossing"? Why not something simpler and more detailed like… well, youknow…… BRIDGE?

Never mind, the Queensferry Crossing it is, and time will tell what people actually call it. In the meantime, here is a barge that is being used in its construction. I don’t know what it’s doing, but it is a big beast, with loads of equipment on deck…
