Another day where a large chunk of my time was spent in Stirling. ..Ever since I have travelled to Stirling, I have wondered about this building. It can be seen just off the A91 near Pirnhall roundabout, and I always assumed it was some kind of relic from the battles of the fourteenth century. Today I decided to take a look…On closer inspection, I would be inclined to believe that I was wrong. It looks much more like a doocote (dovecote) than a watchtower. And it looks a lot more modern that the 1300s…Still, it must be a fair age, and the regularity of the spaces for the birds impresses me!..
