I was at the UDO World Street Dance Championships today, held in the SECC in Glasgow, acting as a subcontracted photographer for the event’s official photographer. I have to say I was hugely impressed by the athleticism, speed, co-ordination, flexibility, strength and teamwork of the dancers. They must have put unimaginable hours of practice and training into learning their routines, especially the teams who seemed to be always so perfectly synchronised.
Since I was subcontracted, I am not posting any of the photos I took as part of the event – they don’t belong to me! But I see no reason why I should not post something I saw when I was walking around on my break. This is one of the teams practising outside the exhibition hall, and the unfortunately busy background shows some sights from Glasgow’s cutural quarter – the most recognisable being the Finnieston Crane.
Laying it on a bit thick I know, but I do want to say again just how impressed I was by the amount of effort, training and practice that these kids must have put in to put on such an amazing show. Well done to all!
