This is the Gardrum Bridge, which is currently closed to all traffic. The sude-effect of that is that my little single-track road down to the motorway is closed… so I have to go round the long way.

The bridge crosses the Gardrum Burn. Now, the village where I live is Rumford, and the Gardrum Burn flows through the village.

From this I can only assume that the village was near a good crossing point for the waterway!
