About a year ago, I had to return my G7X to the shop because it had managed to ingest dust inside the lens.
Since I got a replacement camera, I have been very careful, always keeping it in a case when not in use, and so forth. But today, when I went to take a “rave run” picture at this canal bridge, I saw this in the viewfinder.
Closer inspection shows a dirty great huge piece of dust inside the lens.
I’ve not decided yet how to play it with the repairers. It seems absolutely beyond the pale that this should happen twice within a year. Clearly there is some form of flaw in the camera design.
Grr!
You can see the white piece of dust inside the lens here on this sadly out-of-focus iPhone shot of the camera
