On a cold but beautiful day we went to look at the Elie Chain Walk. This is a 0.5km walk where one uses a chain to help walk round a headland in the Fife coast from West Bay to Shell Bay. The chain walk runs alongside, but is not a required part of, the Fife Coastal Path.
I was not warmly enough dressed for this, and the tide was coming in quite rapidly, so we decided to leave this adventure for another day. But you can see the start of the walk here, where the right, hand chain takes you over a small outcrop of rock before descending to MacDuff’s Cave. The on the left of that little inlet you can see how the chain walk continues, climbing up and around the rocks.
Definitely something for the future!
