2024-05-05 (Day 126) Tree Bridge

This is a bridge over the North Calder Water just south of Bargeddie. I went for a little wander round, trying to make sense of this area. It looks as if the area was an industrial area, but that it has been left and that nature has done a great job of overwhelming the concrete and industrial litter in the area.

The bridge itself runs parallel to the road, but was apparently built for a now-dismantled railway line. I’m not sure that the original builders would have expected to see trees growing out of their bridge though!
