After breakfast at Morrison’s café I drove Marie and Jenni into Liverpool for the show. Then I went back to Southport and went for a bit of a run.

I enjoyed looking around the town – I had thought that it was a seaside resort but the tide seemed to have taken the water out halfway to America. But the pier and the promenade were there, along with the coast-side amusement arcade, the merry-go-rounds, candy floss stalls and waterfront pubs.
