2024-09-27 (Day 271) Migration

I was out for a lunchtime run when I heard a bit of a racket above me – and was amazed at the number of geese that I saw. There mut have been ten or more of these V-shaped “squadrons” heading south.

My first thought was that they were heading south for the winter, heading away from Scotland. But googling suggests that geese fly TO Scotland to spend the winter here – so I wonder where they have been, and where they are going to?
