I was in Bo’ness today and stopped to look out over the foreshore and onwards to the Ochils. And in the foreground, the single-track Bo’ness and Kinneil railway line.
This line is operated by the Scottish Railway Preservation Society, which also operates the Museum Of Scottish Railways, also at Bo’ness. In the summer time, and also approaching Christmas, steam trains regularly ply along this line – sometimes stopping at Birkhill Clay Mine and sometimes going on to join the main Scottish railway network near Linlithgow.
We have been on the train a couple of times, and thoroughly enjoyed the ride!
