The Glensburgh Road bridge crosses the Union Canal at Grangemouth, just a little bit north of the Kelpies. Built in 2013 as part of the Helix project, the central portion of the bridge can be hydraulically lifted to allow vessels to go under it and travel between the River Forth and the canal.
I looked in vain for some indication of the price that a mariner would have to pay to get the bridge to open, but haven’t found it. I’d be interested to know. Anyone?
