While working from home today I was distracted by noises in the back garden. I looked out to see two wood pigeons getting on each other’s nerves. They were standing on the roof of the shed, sometimes getting closer together, sometimes further apart, sometimes having a bit of a go at one another.

Fighting? Establishing territory? Courting? I couldn’t say.

They’re nothing like humans.
