There was a demonstration in Falkirk today against the use of the Cladhan Hotel to house asylum seekers. The hotel itself is to the left of the picture, and in front of that are counter-protestors from the Unison union. On the right, the anti-immigrant protestors. And stuck in the middle, the Police.

Overall, it seems as if the Police had the best of it, successfully keeping both groups apart and the area free from violence. But I do feel very sorry for them, getting abused by both sides.
