This is the controller board of a hard disk drive that I really need to do something with – either use it or get shot of it. It’s been cluttering up my room for ages… I really am not good at throwing things out.

I thought I was the bee’s knees back in … gosh.. 1987? when I bought my first ever hard drive. It was on a PC expansion card, with its eight-bit ISA bus, and sported a whopping 20MB drive. It puts it in some kind of context when you realise that that’s less than the size of a single RAW file from the 5D!

Now, I regard the one above as being pretty much useless because it’s only around 250GB…
