Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Art Gallery is a magnificent building – almost as much of an attraction as the artworks inside.
Built between 1888 and 1901 of red sandstone, it was part of the 1901 Glasgow International Exhibition. A pipe organ installed in the building was bought by the council using proceeds from the Exhibition, and is in use to this day for recitals in the gallery.
Why it is lit up in red on a random day in January, I do not know!
