This is the Dunipace Bridge over the River Carron, to the west of Falkirk.
According to Thomas Telford Publishers, this bridge is 105ft long, with spans of 28ft, 32ft and 28 ft. It was built in 1825 and according to a very worn engraved stone the mason was from Lesmahagow and the contractor from Stirling. The Road Trustees of the Eastern District of Stirlingshire commissioned the bridge, and charged a toll for its use – the tollbooth being on the south side of the bridge.
