Today saw the drive to Yarnfield Park for the NODA Theatre Summer School. I made my usual couple of stops on the way, dropping to see my dad and pass on a parcel for him, and then the next stop was at Gretna Outlet village for lunch. Then down the M6, dealing with a couple of traffic problems en route, and I arrived just as the welcome meeting started.
After the meeting, and some time spent greeting friends I haven’t seen or a few years, I unpacked the car and started putting the stuff into my room.
Yarnfield Park used to be a BT training centre, and I guess that was why there was a nod to the past in the form of this in-room telephone. Sadly, it’s not an original – you just need to see the # and * positions on the dial to realise that – but it is still a pleasant nostalgic reminiscence of the establishment’s past.
