2024-08-26 (Day 239) Rooftops

It was the sight of the spire of St Michael’s kirk peeking through the trees that grabbed my attention here, but I didn’t have the correct camera to capture it. Instead I opened things out to a wider view and noticed the various rooftops I could see.

Nearest is the Regent Centre, Linlithgow. This is a small shopping centre that apparently was built in 1983 (which doesn’t sound as if it was all that long ago – it’s slightly worrying to think that that means it’s over forty years old!). I read that it was built on the site of a Nobel’s explosives factory!

After that, St Michael’s with its newly refurbished Crown Of Thorns. To its right, the walls of Linlithgow Palace – the further wall currently surrounded by scaffolding as works on the building are in progress

And in addition to that, the rooves of various houses can be seen too. It looks as if one of them has recently had some tiles replaced!
