I stopped in at Drumpellier Park today, and thought I might try a different picture from the usual ones of Drumpellier Loch. So instead I followed the small sign that pointed to “Woodend Loch Viewpoint”. And this was the view.
I’m guessing that the description of it as a “viewpoint” was to explain that it was not a walk round the loch. It’s not a walk – you go there, you see it and you come back – you’ve seen the loch and if you are doing the seven lochs walk, that’s fine.
There is a beautiful, public-focused walk around Drumpellier Loch – so if this loch is more used as a working loch, then that’s reasonable. But it wasn’t quite what I expected when I saw the sign pointing to a viewpoint!
