We took Tess for a walk at Callendar Park today, and at one point we noticed a lot of squirrels around. This was on the area that Falkirk Parkrunners will know as Heartbreak Hill, and it is a section where – when I do Parkrun – I have other things on my mind than looking at the wildlife.

Anyway, even though Tess was with us, the squirrels came remarkably close to us and did not seem in the least scared. Admittedly, this picture was taken with a 250mm-equivalent lens, but even so – that close to a dog (even one on a leash) I would have expected the squirrels to be considerably more timid!

PS Microsoft Word has underlined “more timid” and wants me to change it to “timider”. Word’s own spelling checker says that “timider” is a mis-spelling. Thank you for your help. Microsoft Word. I’ll call you if I need any more assistance.
